I would really like for the next avatar to be a little different from the rest.
The story would be something like: The next avatar is born to someone with dreams of power, and realizing that their child is the avatar, locked them away in a compound, training the new avatar and feeding him or her lies about the outside world. Then, the power hungry parent takes the avatar to another part of the world and tries to use him/her to conquer that area.
The new avatar should be a brooding young person, in between Aang’s and Korra’s age, who soon meets their own Avatar gang by interacting in secret with the locals. I imagine in one scenario, when they think the avatar is locked in his/her room, he/she is actually near a beach or some solitary environment when a local confronts them.
This new avatar should have a balance of spirituality and strength, but comparatively weaker than Korra or Aang (think like a Jack of All Trades, Master of None, sort of deal). And their goal is to develop a sense of morality, empathy and individuality before coming face to face with their parent (who would most likely be a man, but I would love for it to be a Mom and Son or a Mom and Daughter).
I kind of feel like this sounds like Zuko: The Avatar, but it would be interesting to have an avatar that wasn’t on the side of good at first.
